What to Expect
WHAT DO I WEAR?
We simply do not have a dress code. Come as you are!
The clothes our worshipers wear represent the blended nature of our community. At church, you will see some men wearing jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and some wear suits with ties. Some women will wear dresses with hats and others will wear jeans. Some people dress their “Sunday Best,” while others wear whatever happens to be most comfortable.
We believe worship comes from the heart, and connecting with your heart is what God is most interested in, not what you wear.
WHERE DO I PARK?
We have parking spots for guests and those needing handicapped assistance in the front-row of our Front Parking Lot. Our Greeting Team and Ushers will be present at both the Front and Back Doors to assist guests needing directions or any other type of special assistance, including Valet Service.
WILL I BE EXPECTED TO CONTRIBUTE MONEY?
No. You are our guest. We have no expectation of receiving a donation from you. Your presence alone is sufficient contribution.
What we have discovered is that our church members feel compelled to cheerfully contribute in a way that supports the work of the Lord. Everyone was new once, but, as they experienced what God is doing in them through the church, they are encouraged to cheerfully contribute and have continued to do so.
HOW CAN I FOLLOW-UP WITH SOMEONE?
No matter if you attend FBC Collinsville all the time or are joining us for the first time, fill out our Digital Connect Card to share with us who you are, how we can be praying with and for you, and ask any questions you have about First Baptist Collinsville or the Gospel of Jesus Christ. WHAT HAPPENS DURING A WORSHIP SERVICE?
Our Worship Service starts at 10:30am on Sunday Morning, and a lot of people are already on-campus from having attended 9am Sunday School Classes. Others who are involved with a weekday small-group instead of Sunday School typically arrive a few minutes before we start.
Typically, the service will include a Congregational Hymn or Presentation from the Adult Choir and a personal welcome from a member of the leadership team. Following the welcome, the Praise Team leads some contemporary songs that we sing together. Some folks will stand, clap along, raise their hands, and even sing a little off key, while others might remain seated and worship as they feel led. Following musical worship, the pastor will preach a message from the Bible that addresses relevant issues we face every day. After the message, an opportunity to respond to the gospel will be available, which is a good time to be encouraged or have someone pray with you or for you. Our service typically lasts about 75 minutes.
